Executive Board Bios
JESSICA CRAVEN, President
I am the proud mother of 4th grader Myra-Jean Wodkowski. This will be my second year as PTA President at Mt. Washington Elementary, but I have always enjoyed volunteering here—for Safety Valet, Snack Shack, and Mt. Washington Made. I consider it an honor and privilege to help make this already wonderful school even more wonderful. In my “real life” I am a community organizer, activist, and occasional lemonade stand co-facilitator. I will still not be taking pies to the face this year, but will do anything and everything else in my power to ensure that the kids, parents, and teachers of MWE have a fantastic year.
ANGELA VAWTER, Communications Chair
I am pleased to be working as VP of Communications for a second year. This is my third year as a parent at Mt. Washington Elementary. My son Henry is a second grader now. My husband and I also have a future wolf - 3 1/2 yr. old Josephine. I’ve spent the last two years volunteering on the Kinder Yard, at Pancake Breakfast, the Winter Book Fair, and various committees. The best part for me is being with the kids, getting to know them and their families, and working alongside Mrs. Gravino, the teachers and great parents towards the best of common goals. Our school is both a positive and powerful place to be, and our family is proud to be a part of it. I'll do my very best to keep all MWE families well informed this year, and I encourage everyone to chase those opportunities that help us grow stronger as a community school. Another year of opportunities awaits...
ERICA ROSALES, Programs Chair
Mt. Washington Elementary is an excellent school because of our involved parent community. I want to provide all children in our school opportunities to engage in meaningful programs that build self-awareness, and community, all while having fun. My oldest daughter is a proud Wolf alumna and currently a middle school student, Valentina is a sixth grader and Emiliano is a second grader. We have been actively engaged in our school community for many years. I have volunteered as room rep, ran a Spanish club, and was president of FOMWS for a couple years. I look forward to meeting many of you as we work together to creating community.
DAWN DUNBAR, Ways and Means
My name is Dawn and I am the mother to Shea, a wonderful and wild boy in the 5th grade. Although I have absolutely no experience in fundraising, I love a good party! That, and the fact that I am willing to do it, are really the only qualifications I have for the Ways and Means chair position. My goal this year, besides the obvious point of raising money for our school, is to have super fun events. I believe the children are our future, that goofy socks bring me good luck and that my level of feeling like a part of this community is directly related to the level of my participation. So come and volunteer at our events, I promise not to silently judge you!
MICHELLE Z., Volunteers Chair
I am the proud mama of Jax, the sweetest little human being who will be in 1st grade this year. This will be our second year at Mt. Washington, and I am honored to be a part of the PTA Board. Last year I was lucky enough to be a Room Rep, Class Photographer and Garden Rep. Getting to know the kids, teachers, and parents made our first school year extra special. We love being a part of this community. And there are so many fun ways to be involved in the school. This year I hope to be able to connect parents with volunteer opportunities that will help make their school year amazing and memorable.
SARA STANTON, Secretary
I am the mother of Sofia Antonacci, a 1st grader. This is my first time on the PTA board. My family moved to Mount Washington 3 years ago and fell in love this small community right away. My husband and I both enjoy volunteering in various ways, helping our amazing school and its members. I hope to continue that support in my position as Secretary. I am also a full-time working mom, who owns a commercial casting company in Hollywood and enjoys reading books and snuggling with our daughter and our 2 small dogs.
BRANDI MILES MOORE, Parliamentarian
I've lived in Mount Washington since 1994 and am the proud parent of Emmet, who is a 5th grader. This is my sixth year on the MWPTA board, having served as Secretary, Treasurer, and now Parliamentarian. I love the community of our school and how much the teachers, staff and families genuinely care about our children and each other. I look forward to making each year better for our school than the last.
JUNE YANG, Treasurer
Los Angeles has always been my favorite place, and in Mount Washington we have found an enclave unlike any other in this already magnificent city. The heart of this community is something we can really be proud of, and my family and I couldn't be more thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute. By day, I work as a tax attorney/CPA, but by night, I get to go home to my Batman-obsessed first grader named Wyatt who is the love of our lives.
MEEHAN RASCH, Historian
I've lived in Mt. Washington since 2010, literally across the street from MWE, and have adored and supported this school as a community institution since before I had a kid! Now proud mom of Millie, a kindergarten Wolf, I've also served locally on the board of the Mount Washington Homeowners Alliance and the Planning and Land Use Committee of the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council. In my day job, I'm a civil appellate attorney and past Co-President of the LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles.
